When Dr. Light shows up in Coast City seeking to defeat Green Lantern, the first in his plot to defeat all the Justice League members one-on-one, Hal Jordan changes itno Green Lantern to meet the challenge. However, in their initial combat, Green Lantern is knocked out, however instead of falling to his death, the power ring opens up a hole in the Earth for Hal to fall into until he wakes up and pull himself up.

Searching for Dr. Light with Pieface, Green Lantern detects the villain in the area. Since Hal Jordan is needed to appear to receive an aerospace reward, he uses his power ring to make Pieface look like Hal Jordan to get the prize for him. Green Lantern battles Dr. Light once more. When Dr. Light is able to put Green Lantern on the ropes in a fight, Green Lantern pretends to drop his power ring. When Dr. Light grabs for the faux-ring, he falls into Green Lantern's trap, the ring suddenly turns into a green bubble that imprisons Dr. Light.

Leaving Light for the authorities, Green Lantern rushes to the award show to relieve Pieface, and arrives just as Pieface had finished receiving the award for Hal.

Synopsis for "The Disarming of Green Lantern!"
While in the hospital, Pieface accidentally blurts out that Green Lantern uses a lamp to recharge his power ring within earshot of a crook who is also recovering in the hospital. Once both are released, the crooks have Pieface captured and steal a series of lamps all over the city to have Pieface identify which one is Green Lantern's power battery.

The plot blows up in the crooks faces because Pieface had told Green Lantern about the goof up before he was captured and they set a trap to round up the crooks.
