DC Comics and BOOM! Studios are teaming up to bring together two of their classic sci-fi franchises in Planet of the Apes/Green Lantern.
Details are scarce on the project, including the story and the creative team. According to CBR, the creative team and initial art will be revealed after this week's New York Comic Con. Green Lantern has previously crossed over with Star Trek in Star Trek/Green Lantern: The Spectrum War with a second series coming later this year. DC has recently been working with other companies on several crossovers such as Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and their previous collaboration with BOOM!, Lumberjanes/Gotham Academy. And Planet of the Apes has also crossed over with other franchises, including the current Tarzan on the Planet of the Apes series. Green Lantern/Planet of the Apes is scheduled to debut February 2017.

Tom Taylor announced at NYCC the new Green Lantern miniseries "Edge of Oblivion" that will feature Ethan Van Sciver on art, a fact that will surely please a lot of GL fans.
Also revealed was the variant cover by Ivan Reis, another GL fan favorite (above). Edge Of Oblivion will be six issues and will pick up after Lost Army. As pointed out by The Blog Of Oa it is unsure whether Cullen Bunn will have any input into the series since it seems to being continuing what he started in Lost Army. No word on release date but most likely it will be the beginning of 2016. Ethan Van Sciver posted the teaser pic of the interior art at right, and check out Tom Taylor's NYCC interview from Comicvine below. |
