What Does DC Comics Rebirth Announcement Mean For Green Lantern

DC Comics recently announced "Rebirth", a new refresh, so to speak. of the DCU but not a reboot. Rumors have swirled as to what it was and DC posted teasers, now we have gotten our first bit of info on this Rebirth.

Geoff Johns gave some details in a video which is posted on our Facebook page via Comic Book Resources and more details were released afterwards. A number of Rebirth Specials (23) will be released starting in June after an 80 page DC Universe Rebirth.

DC will then release 32 ongoing titles, 17 twice monthly titles and 15 monthly with a lower price point of $2.99 (something DC has done before). DC will make more announcements at WonderCon in March. The Green Lantern related titles will include GREEN LANTERNS REBIRTH #1, GREEN LANTERNS #1 (in June), HAL JORDAN & THE GREEN LANTERN CORPS REBIRTH #1, and HAL JORDAN & THE GREEN LANTERN CORPS #1 (in July) both being twice monthly titles.

This points to the fact we are most likely in for some changes in the Green Lantern Universe. When you look at the titles Green Lanterns sound like it will focus on more then one Green Lantern but being it doesn't have Corps in the name could mean it focuses on the earth Green Lanterns minus Hal possibly, the other title Hal Jordan & The Green Lantern Corps would sound like it would be Hal and the rest of the Corps possibly in space, although all of this is speculation.

There are question marks with the Rebirth,  Sinestro appears to be cancelled so what is going to happen to him and the other color Corps, also Omega Men ends does this mean Kyle will be back in the fold with the other GL's. There is also a group shot in the Johns video that appears to have a Green Lantern (Jade or Jessica Cruz?) in it, our friends at the Blog Of Oa speculate this is the new Titans line-up (once again have a GL in it). Only time will tell with this what the details are which we will post as we get word.
